Live Music: LUA Project
Live Music: LUA Project

Join us for cider and The Lua Project as they play a new style of music they like to call "Mexilachian" music - a blend of original and traditional music from Mexico, Appalachia, and the Atlantic Basin. It is a very distinct and original sound that is fun, danceable and though unique, it's familiar and easily embraced by multiple cultures.

Live Music: Willie DE
Live Music: Willie DE

Willie DE, a nationally touring young artist based in Central Virginia, blends blues, jazz, and rock (mostly rock!) to create a fresh, original sound.

Growing up on Bob Dylan and Van Morrison, he busked on Charlottesville’s downtown mall and outside football games in Charlottesville performing original material and most anything the crowd asked for. At the age of 13 he formed a band called The Wave. The young band’s success landed them at major festivals like Floydfest where the group took the Main Stage in 2011. The Wave recorded two full albums and one EP worth of Willie’s original rock songs.

Reservations are encouraged if you'd like a table. Otherwise, bring some chairs or a blanket and stake out a spot.

Live Music: The Pollocks
Live Music: The Pollocks

The Pollocks are led by Jason Pollock, former guitarist and songwriter for Seven Mary Three. In the mid 1990s, Jason penned such hits as "Cumbersome" and "Water's Edge", sold a few million albums, and toured extensively. His new band was formed in 2014, when a friend told him that he needed to get back into the game, and present to the public his catalog of songs that had been piling up. The music can best be described as American rock, with the right amount of soul: The Rolling Stones meets Jefferson Airplane. There's some Velvet Underground, Bob Dylan, The Beatles and Neil Young thrown in for good measure. The psychedelic South, in three part harmony...

Live Music in the Orchard: Alex Caton
Live Music in the Orchard: Alex Caton

Grab a glass and enjoy live music by Alex Caton.

Alex made her home and spread her roots in Gordonsville, Virginia when she came to the University of Virginia to pursue a Doctorate in Anthropology. Her studies may have brought her to the Commonwealth, but it was the countryside and strong musical community that kept her here.

Having lived, taught, and performed in other centers for traditional music, including Upstate New York and Asheville, NC, Alex felt that the heartbeat of old-time or Appalachian music (a direct descendent of Irish music which was an early passion of Alex’s) pulsed stronger in the foothills of Virginia than anywhere else. Within the first year of arriving in central Virginia, Alex was an integral member of the traditional music community and also an ambassador and liaison between the worlds of Irish and Old-Time music.

Reservations are encouraged if you'd like to secure a table. Otherwise, we welcome you to bring chairs or blankets and claim your spot on the lawn!
