Another season is behind us, and we're ready to share the best bottles to come out of it! Join us Saturday July 14th for the release of our very special 1817 blend and Virginia Hewe's Crab single varietal!
1817 is based on a recipe in the historical text "A View of the Cultivation of Fruit Trees and the Management of Orchards and Cider," authored by William Coxe and published in the year 1817, this cider is comprised of a rich blend of 3 different classic cider apples, the Winesap, Harrison, and VA Hewe's Crab. This cider is rich, smooth, tart and complex, with a deep golden hue.
The second-ever release of our Virginia Hewe's Crab varietal cider has been worth the wait! This cider has a complexity rarely found in single varietals. Very balanced, with a bold body and full, lingering finish, this cider is floral and intense.
We're so excited to share these premium ciders with you, alongside delicious treats from Iron Paffles of Charlottesville. You can also enjoy a tour of the cidery, and see where the magic happens. Then grab a glass and a paffle and relax on the patio to old time and bluegrass tunes by Small Town Rodeo. We'll have the cornhole boards and bocce out, or bring a frisbee and a friend, and celebrate with us!
