Sat, 09/12/2015 - 9:00am to 7:00pm

Here at Albemarle CiderWorks, we are excited to once again participate in the Monticello Heritage Harvest Festival.  An homage to all the best of local foodways and crafts, this yearly festival is an educational showcase not to be missed.  ACW will present a cider pressing demo, and offer tastings and cider sales through our vendor tent and through the festival VIP area.

Thomas Jefferson championed vegetable cuisine, plant experimentation, and sustainable agriculture. The 9th Annual Heritage Harvest Festival, hosted by the Thomas Jefferson Foundation in partnership with Southern Exposure Seed Exchange, celebrates Jefferson’s legacy in a fun, affordable, family-oriented, educational event promoting gardening, sustainability, local food, and the preservation of heritage plants.

The 2015 Heritage Harvest Festival will be held on Saturday, September 12, at Monticello: on the West Lawn, in the vegetable garden, and in the LEED-certified Visitor Center. The venue provides a beautiful showcase for the restored gardens and features the wealth of Monticello’s programs in not just gardening, but also natural history, foodways, and the roles of the entire plantation community. On Friday, September 11, there will be additional premium programming, including the Friday Festival Opening Night with the Beekman Boys.
