Planning and Planting the Home Orchard
Saturday, March 3, 2018 - 9:00am to 4:00pm

Dreaming of starting your own orchard?  Join Rich Marini, Penn State University pomologist, and the team at Vintage Virginia Apples and Albemarle CiderWorks for a day-long course on planning and planting fruit trees, and all of the associated considerations.

Topics to be discussed include site selection and preparation, water and protection options, varietal and rootstock selection, the physical planting of the trees including notes on high density planting, and care over the life of the tree.  We'll conclude with cider tasting and a tour of the Vintage Virginia orchard.  This is the place to bring all your questions!

Coffee and lunch included.  VVA staff will be on hand all day for orchard consultation, and tree orders may be scheduled for pick up while you're here.  Click through the link below to sign up, or call us at 434-297-2326 with any questions.

Cancellation Policy:  For refund, cancellations must be received 10 days prior to event.
