Live Music in the Orchard: John Rimel (with Brian Rimel)
Live Music in the Orchard: John Rimel (with Brian Rimel)

Grab a glass and join us for live music by John and Brian Rimel!

John Rimel is an award-winning songwriter from Central Virginia, with credits including songs featured on seven Top 10 Billboard albums, Country Music Song of the Year, and an album under consideration for a 2019 Grammy. John performs his original repertoire (an eclectic mix of Americana, blues, rock, folk, country, bluegrass, and gospel) in an acoustic duo with Brian Rimel. The paired down presentation of piano and acoustic guitar, highlighted by family harmony, affords the listener an intimate musical experience and, best of all, a chance to hear his songs as they were written. Live Music in the Orchard: Michael Clem
Live Music in the Orchard: Michael Clem

Grab a glass and join us for live music by Michael Clem!

A recent nominee for BEST OF C-VILLE 2022 in the “Music Artist” category, local singer-songwriter Michael Clem has managed to continue his life as a full-time musician for several decades.  For 31 years, Clem has been playing bass, singing and writing songs for the national touring act he co-founded, Eddie from Ohio.  Over that time, EFO has amassed a sizable grassroots following, released nine CDs (all independently) & collected numerous Washington Area Music Association Awards.  Since 2008, with the band slowing down, Clem has relocated from Northern Virginia to Charlottesville where he’s established quite a foothold in its musical scene, with a variety of solo, duo, trio & ensemble configurations.

Clem has established a firm place in the local troubadour community for the past ten years, hosting the long-running Monday night Songwriter Night at The Local in Charlottesville. Clem is also currently a resident teacher for Songwriting at The Front Porch.

Live Music in the Orchard: Lua Project
Live Music in the Orchard: Lua Project

Enjoy live music by Lua Project!

Lua is a cultural pollinator, bridging musical styles from different continents and different centuries. They write about contemporary themes, about families, and people and work and loss, but draw on the musical traditions of their own families' past. The music is inspired by Mexican Son, Appalachian song forms, Jewish and Eastern European tonalities, baroque melodic ideas, and Scotch-Irish narrative storytelling approaches. They strive to create a repertoire that constitutes new traditional music that they will be able to pass down to their children to experience, transform, and pass on.
