Albemarle CiderWorks Guidelines:

Albemarle CiderWorks management and staff are working to follow the guidelines ordered by the Governor's office and CDC. We will be operating with the following limitations to maintain the safety of our staff and patrons:

  • Tables and chairs will be set on the lawn for guests to use. Feel free to bring chairs or a picnic blanket if you prefer. Our Orchard Room is open for limited seating for groups 6 and under. Larger groups will have to be seated outside.

  • Per the executive order by the Governor of Virginia on Dec 9, 2020, groups must be limited to 10 people. Groups larger than 10 will be asked to leave. Groups larger than 10 cannot divide seating into two smaller groups. Thank you for helping us comply with the current executive order.

  • Guests must be seated in a way that maintains appropriate physical distance between parties. ACW Staff will assist in properly seating guests.

  • Reservations are encouraged - call 434-297-2326 or make a reservation on OpenTable here. Reservations are held for 15 minutes after reservation time, then the table is opened up for walk-in seating. Reservations must be made before the day of your visit. There is walk-in seating available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

  • The tasting room is open Wed-Sun, 11a-5pm.

Curbside pickup is still available Wed-Sun, 11-5. Orders may be placed online at shop.albemarleciderworks.com or you can call 434-297-2326.

Other considerations-

Masks – Our staff will be wearing masks, per CDC and the governor’s office requirements. Guests are asked to wear a mask while using the restroom, interacting with our staff, or moving about the property. Even though we are operating mainly outside, masks must be worn at any time that you cannot be 6 feet or more away from our staff or other patrons. We appreciate your help in complying with state and county requirements.

Weather – We have limited indoor seating. In the case of inclement weather, we may not be able to fit all guests indoors. However, guests are welcome to sit in their vehicles until the inclement weather passes. With the colder weather arriving in Virginia, we have added fire pits and outdoor heaters. While these can help cut through the cold, we recommend that you dress according to the weather.

Food – We have a few a la carte menu items available including Caromont Farm chevre, Birdie's pimento cheese, Olli salami, Route 11 potato chips and various crackers. If you would like to bring a picnic from home, or take out from a restaurant, feel free to do so. We ask that you throw away all food trash in the receptacles provided to minimize exposure to our staff.

Pets – Well-behaved, leashed pets are permitted.  Please remember to bring water bowls and other supplies for your pet. We will not be able to provide water bowls for pets.

Guests under 21 – We ask that parents or guardians keep children with them at all times and help children maintain social distance. We understand that our younger guests are used to being able to run around the lawn and enjoy the open space. In order to keep safe physical distance, we ask that parents and guardians keep children at their group’s designated table or area.

Lawn games – No lawn games are permitted.  Guests are welcome to bring cards or table games to enjoy while visiting but lawn games such as football, soccer, cornhole, etc., will not be allowed.

Restrooms – Guests will have access to the restrooms in our tasting room.  We ask that guests wear masks and maintain social distancing while waiting for restroom availability.

Orchard - We would like to remind guests that we are a working orchard. Please do not venture into the orchard while visiting.

Most of all, please be kind and respectful to other guests.  As we navigate the next couple of months, please remember that we have all experienced this in different ways and have different personal guidelines for what makes us feel safe.
