Live Music in the Orchard: Brian Franke

Join Brian Franke at Albemarle CiderWorks for an afternoon of live and local music.

Since his start in 2009 he's held regular rotations in Virginia's winery scene playing a range of folk and singer/songwriter music from the 1960s through today, upbeat rock covers from the classic rock era, 90s alternative rock, mainstream pop, and even some of today's hits.

• Light bites and hard cider will be available for purchase by the glass, bottle, or flight.
• Outside food is welcome; feel free to bring a picnic!
• ABC laws prohibit the consumption of alcoholic beverages not purchased onsite.

Irish Music : Aaron Olwell & Friends Enjoy this energetic and eclectic Irish jam session every 2nd Sunday of the month. Patrick & Aaron Olwell and friends play their fine renditions of traditional tunes all afternoon.Light bites and hard cider will be available for purchase by the glass, bottle, or flight.

Galentine’s Day Beginner Hip Hop Dance Class

Come and make friends, move your body, enjoy cider, and learn some easy-to-follow hip hop dance moves this Galentine's Day. All skill levels are welcomed, as this class is accessible for all bodies and abilities.

What is included:
After a brief warm up all together, you will be split up into 3 groups.  As one group learns the dance in 15-20 min segments, the other two can enjoy cider and mingling in the tasting room. When all three groups have learned the dance, we will review and dance it together!  Our music selection will feature leading ladies of hip hop across the decades...Erykah Badu, Missy Elliott, JJ Fad, TLC, Doja Cat and Brandy to name a few.

 

What to wear:  Comfortable clothes you feel good moving in and sneakers.  Bring a water bottle and a friend!

 

Class will be led by Dana, a life-long student of many dance forms, who’s been teaching dance on and off for 15 years.  In Charlottesville she’s taught at The Dance Spot, Carver Rec Center, and The Phoenix.  When she’s not dancing, she’s styling hair, cooking, road tripping or enjoying time with her family in their Gordonsville home.

Enjoy live music by Her Checkered Past.Join Anne O'Brien and Frank Bechter in the orchard for some live music that will warm your heart. This duo will keep you humming along to popular songs. The cider will be flowing so bring a thirst, and treat yourself to a little relaxation.

Live Music in the Orchard: Mojo Pie

Grab a glass and join us for live music by Mojo Pie!

Mojo Pie was created when Susan Munson invited Frank Bechter to a songwriters workshop, and they've been bringing harmonies to wineries, restaurants and events in Central Virginia ever since. Both have been featured artists in Charlottesville's First Night Virginia and Jason Burke's Six-Pack Songwriter Series, and they make up 2/3 of the acoustic trio Oh Wow, Boy! Susan also rocks many a stage with Alligator, Jeebus, and Mama Tried, as does Frank with Das Homage, The Good Guys, and Her Checkered Past
