{after-hours} Silent Book Club{after-hours} Silent Book Club
Sip cider and read in quiet camaraderie. No assigned reading, no obligations. Bring your own book of choice.
This is our first-ever evening Silent Book Club! Same cozy situation as our other reading sessions, but this time with candlelight & (with luck) a stunning sunset. We'll have the entire cidery to spread out, since this is an after-hours event. This event is free to attend, no tickets required A few notes since this event will be around dinnertime: - Albemarle CiderWorks offers charcuterie, cheese, bread & pretzel nuggets, but outside food is also welcome
- This event is "quiet" but not truly silent. We play gentle background instrumental music, people turn pages & sometimes eat chips. If you want true silence, it may be wise to bring headphones or earplugs

Grafting WorkshopGrafting Workshop
Since apples do not reproduce true from seed, propagation depends on grafting the desired variety onto a reliable rootstock. Expert hands-on instruction by the Vintage Virginia Apples staff will introduce you to the fine art of grafting. Each participant will graft two trees from a choice of scionwood from the Vintage Virginia Apples collection to take home with them, along with a copy of our grafting handbook. Extra rootstock and scion will be available for sale after this workshop. If you have them, feel free to bring a pair of handheld pruners and a grafting knife- please make sure they are sharp! If you do not have these tools, there will be several available during the class to practice with or you can purchase your own when you arrive. Cancellation Policy: For refund, cancellations must be received 10 days prior to event. Click HERE to sign up.
Live Music in the Orchard: The PollocksLive Music in the Orchard: The Pollocks
The Pollocks are led by Jason Pollock, former guitarist, and songwriter for Seven Mary Three. In the mid-1990s, Jason penned such hits as "Cumbersome" and "Water's Edge", sold a few million albums, and toured extensively. Jason's new band was formed in 2014 when a friend told him that he needed to get back into the game. The music can best be described as American rock, with the right amount of soul: The Rolling Stones meets Jefferson Airplane. There's some Velvet Underground, Bob Dylan, The Beatles, and Neil Young thrown in for good measure. - Light bites and hard cider will be available for purchase by the glass, bottle, or flight.
- Outside food is welcome; feel free to bring a picnic!
- ABC laws prohibit the consumption of outside alcoholic beverages
