TSUGARU, from Japan, is an open-pollinated seedling of Golden Delicious. Flesh is more firm than Golden, dull red, large and very sweet. Ripens just before Gala, or early August. Tree is moderately vigorous and somewhat spreading. This is a productive dessert variety.
