Stay me with flagons; comfort me with apples.
CAROLINA BELLE is white peach with a sweet, honey-like flavor. It is a fairly attractive freestone, white-fleshed peach, and the flowers are non-showy. Harvest season begins July 25 to Aug. 5. Fifty to 80% of the surface is covered with a red blush. The flesh is moderately firm with some red color. It has a rich, sweet flavor, especially when tree ripened. It ripens 18 days before Elberta and requires 750 hours of chilling. This variety grows best in zones 5-8. It was developed at North Carolina State University in 1987. When trees have a light crop, the fruit are large and may have a few split pits. It is susceptible to bacterial spot.
