Join us as we transform our Orchard room into a Cidery Cinema.

All are welcome. Light bites, movie snacks, and cider will be available for purchase. but once the seats are gone, they're gone.

Indoor seating will be provided, all with excellent view of the screen.

Doors Open at 6 pm,The film will begin promptly at 7 pm on Friday, March 1st and runs ~ 1 hour and 52 Minutes. Feel free to come early for a glass of cider or a themed drink.

Admission is free, but you must reserve your space

Albemarle Ciderworks get ready for St. Paddy's day family event!

Start St. Paddy's week off with a family friendly afternoon of music, dance and activities!
BRIMS will be at Albemarle Ciderworks to share the music and traditions we love from Irish culture.
Music, dance, meet the instruments, kids' activities and more.
Suggested donations $20/family, $10/Adult individual

Enjoy this energetic and eclectic Irish jam session every 2nd Sunday of the month. Patrick & Aaron Olwell and friends play their fine renditions of traditional tunes all afternoon.

• Light bites and hard cider will be available for purchase by the glass, bottle, or flight.
• Outside food is welcome; feel free to bring a picnic!
• ABC laws prohibit the consumption of outside alcoholic beverages

*Musicians will setup in the Orchard Room during inclement weather

Since apples do not reproduce true from seed, propagation depends on grafting the desired variety onto a reliable rootstock.   Expert hands-on instruction by the Vintage Virginia Apples staff will introduce you to the fine art of grafting.  Each participant will graft two trees from a choice of scionwood from the Vintage Virginia Apples collection to take home with them, along with a copy of our grafting handbook. Extra rootstock and scion will be available for sale after this workshop. 

If you have them, feel free to bring a pair of handheld pruners and a grafting knife- please make sure they are sharp!  If you do not have these tools, there will be several available during the class to practice with or you can purchase your own when you arrive.

March is welcoming in our newest yeild of Harrison Cider, and to celebrate we are giving you the chance to try vintages from years past.

Once the most celebrated cider apple of the 1800s, the Harrison was nearly driven to extinction during Prohibition. Reclaimed from near eradication, it is now once again a hero of the cider industry. 

The Harrison's story of resilience over the last 200 years isn't the only fascinating thing about it. While the apple constantly yields a superior cider, the tasting notes vary widely harvest to harvest. We experience this phenomenon every year at the CiderWorks. Though many of our Harrisons have won awards, they each are unique flavors from one another. 

Join us on March 23rd for an after-hours event as we pull Harrisons from years past from our library and introduce our newest release for a vertical tasting of Harrison. We will be comparing 4 years of the Harrison Cider, ciders made from one of the most interesting apples in the industry.

Sip cider and read in quiet camaraderie. No assigned reading, no obligations. Bring your own book of choice. This is a free social event hosted in our Orchard Room.
