Live Music in the Orchard - Byron MassieLive Music in the Orchard - Byron Massie
Join us for an acoustic afternoon you're bound to enjoy with Byron Massie. Byron Massie is a singer/songwriter who was born and raised in Nelson County. Byron was born into a family whose musical traditions go back generations and have helped shape the musician he is today. He is almost always accompanied by his Dad, Billy, on the dobro. Together they provide a true instrumental harmony which allows you to melt into the stories created by the songs Byron has written. They are humble, hardworking, and honorable, which is evident in their song selections. If you’re looking for a laid back, heartfelt, and fun evening I would make it a point to come out and give these fellas a listen.

Live music in the orchard: Alex Caton & Jordan Perry Live music in the orchard: Alex Caton & Jordan Perry
Grab a glass and enjoy live music by Alex Caton & Jordan Perry. Alex made her home and spread her roots in Gordonsville, Virginia when she came to the University of Virginia to pursue a Doctorate in Anthropology. Her studies may have brought her to the Commonwealth, but it was the countryside and strong musical community that kept her here. Having lived, taught, and performed in other centers for traditional music, including Upstate New York and Asheville, NC, Alex felt that the heartbeat of old-time or Appalachian music (a direct descendent of Irish music which was an early passion of Alex’s) pulsed stronger in the foothills of Virginia than anywhere else. Within the first year of arriving in central Virginia, Alex was an integral member of the traditional music community and also an ambassador and liaison between the worlds of Irish and Old-Time music. Jordan Perry is a respected fixture in the local music scene, known for his virtuosity on electric guitar and his soulful vocals. His credits include work with Charlottesville luminaries like Ned Oldham, New Boss, and the bluegrass ensemble Uncle Pen. Beyond performing, he serves as director of the Music Resource Center, nurturing the next generation of talent. His prolific solo catalogue showcases his versatility and deep musical roots.
