Do you make the best Apple Pie around? Find out!

Enter the Ultimate Apple Pie Contest sponsored by the Charlottesville Cooking School at the Vintage Virginia Apples Annual Harvest Festival on Saturday November 1, 2014.

Open to amateur and professional cooks. Entry is free. To register email info@charlottesvillecookingschool.com and put “pie contest” in the subject line. Send us your name, phone number and tell us a little bit about why you want to enter.

Your pie will be judged by a panel from the local food community including Martha Stafford, owner of the Charlottesville Cooking School.

Rules:
All pies should be baked in a disposable pie tin and dropped off at the pie table by 11:30 a.m. the morning of the festival.

Attach a 3x5 card with your name, telephone number, the type of apples used and the ingredients in the crust. We encourage you to use a variety of local apples.

Prizes include:
1st prize - $100.00 gift certificate from Virginia Vintage Apples and Albemarle Ciderworks.
2nd Prize - a $65.00 gift certificate at the Charlottesville Cooking School.

*Please note that once entered, pies become the property of the Cove Garden Ruritans and will be sold by the slice to raise money for their charitable activities.
